USDA Comil® - Deagglomerating Spray Dried Products

Source: Quadro Engineering Corp.
Quadro was recently contacted by a major dairy product manufacturer to help find a solution to their spray dried cheese production process. Cheese powders are used by a wide variety of end-users including snack food processors for coating chips. The powders must be free flowing to be of value to the end-user's production process. Spray dried products such as cheese powder, agglomerate to form granules. To correct this problem, the cheese powder was charged directly into the Comil® from a feed hopper. The gentle action of the Comil® easily deagglomerated the cheese powder at very high capacities. The resultant cheese particles produced a fine flowing product.

The versatile Comil® can be used for multiple product specifications with one (1) quick tooling change. Four (4) USDA dairy models are available for capacities up to 60,000 lbs/hr. All models feature a sanitary, easy-clean design and stainless steel construction.
