Schwarzwaldmilch Cooperates With Käserei Bauhofer - Strategic Partnership For Sustainable Growth

The Freiburg-based Schwarzwaldmilch Group has entered into a comprehensive collaboration with Martin Bauhofer Käserei GmbH. The cooperation agreement covers key functional areas and initially focuses on sales and marketing, as well as production, particularly the manufacture of existing and new cheese products under the Schwarzwaldmilch brand. Käserei Bauhofer specializes in Allgäu Emmental, mountain cheese, and semi-hard cheese. The family-run company is headquartered in Bodnegg in the Allgäu region of Württemberg.

Growth prospects
"We want to further expand the Schwarzwaldmilch cheese range and increase the overall cheese sales of the Bauhofer cheese dairy through this cooperation," explains Andreas Schneider, Managing Director of the Schwarzwaldmilch Group. To this end, the Freiburg-based dairy will assume sales responsibilities, among other things. Furthermore, new product concepts will be developed and, where appropriate, systems and processes will be utilized synergistically. "This is the start of a long-term and sustainable partnership for both companies," says Markus Kaiser, Chairman of the Supervisory Board of the Schwarzwaldmilch Group.

The four existing Black Forest milk cheese products, the three- and six-month-aged organic milk mountain cheese and the three- and six-month-aged pasture-fed milk mountain cheese, will now be produced by Käserei Bauhofer. "We look forward to the collaboration, which will enable us to further strengthen our market positions and leverage synergies," emphasize the two managing directors of Käserei Bauhofer, Martin and Michael Bauhofer.

The cooperatively owned Schwarzwaldmilch Group is one of the country's leading dairies, processing approximately 700,000 kg of milk daily. For over 95 years, farmers in the region have been supplying their milk to its two locations in Freiburg and Offenburg. The more than 800 mostly small, family-run farms, with an average of 46 dairy cows, ensure the outstanding quality of their dairy products. The company's portfolio ranges from milk (fresh and long-life) to yogurts, butter, and sour milk products, as well as lactose-free and protein products. The organic and organic hay milk ranges are Bioland certified. Schwarzwaldmilch is the national market leader among manufacturer brands in several categories of the White Line.

The Bauhofer cheese dairy is located in Bodnegg in the Allgäu region of Württemberg. The family business dates back to 1911 and is now run by the third and fourth generations, respectively, senior boss Martin and his son Michael Bauhofer. From collecting the milk from the farm to the finished cheese, all steps are carried out in-house. The Bauhofer cheese dairy produces its cheese specialties according to traditional recipes and with artisanal care. The dairy processes approximately 65,000 kg of milk per day.
