Scherping Systems' Acquisition of Damrow Now Complete

WINSTED, MINNESOTA, March 21, 2000. Scherping Systems has acquired Damrow Denmark and Damrow USA, an equipment manufacturer for the cheese industry in American and worldwide markets. Damrow will operate as its own business unit as a subsidiary of Scherping Systems, a division of Carlisle Companies, Inc. This acquisition extends Scherping's geographic and product range to make the Scherping group the number one equipment supplier in the world.

In the US Damrow will continue to operate out of Fond Du Lac, Wisconsin and Todd Martin has been appointed General Manager. Martin brings with him a diverse background in the dairy and cheese industry. He was previously with the Acme Equipment Co., where he was vice president and before that at Tetra Pak Cheese Systems. He has also worked at Stoelting and APV.

In Denmark, Damrow will stay headquartered out of Kolding and Villy Staehr Rasmussen will continue as the General Manager. Damrow's product range includes European cheese systems and cottage cheese equipment as well as a full range of cheddar and mozzarella systems. The Denmark location will continue to provide full system capability to the European and South American markets and will market directly or through agents.
