Quadro Vac® Dust-Free Milling System Used For Tablet Production
Quadro Engineering recently supplied a Quadro® Comil® and Quadro Vac® to the research laboratories of a large multi-national pharmaceutical manufacturer for use in tablet production. The Quadro Vac® Clean Grinding System was selected after trials were carried out and compared with systems employing high-speed Hammermills.
With the Quadro Vac® Dust-Free Milling System, material is drawn directly from the IBC, through the Comil®, temporarily staged in the Quadro Vac®'s receiving hopper, from where it is then discharged into the mixer's receiving container bowl.
Trials proved that the Quadro Vac® Dust-Free Milling System operated more efficiently than the Hammermill System. While the original goal for the manufacturer was compliance with health regulations, the Comil® in the Quadro® System was able to produce the same end-product results as the existing system using a motor that was approximately 25% smaller than the Hammermill, resulting in significant cost savings for the manufacturer.
As a result of these trials, the manufacturer purchased full Systems for each of their two (2) regional manufacturing locations.
