Monsanto Dairy Hires Osborn & Barr Communications
Agency Expands Partnership with Monsanto Co.
St. Louis, MO - Monsanto Dairy, a division of Monsanto Co. specializing in health and breeding products for dairy animals, has selected Osborn & Barr Communications as its agency of record. Osborn & Barr is charged with developing and executing a strategy of integrated communications, including creative direction, media services, digital marketing, and public relations. Osborn & Barr will be involved with Monsanto's POSILAC and Decisive brands, as well as all forage nutrition brands which the agency already supports through Monsanto's crop division.
"We selected Osborn & Barr because of their expertise in agriculture, very successful track record with Monsanto, full-service capabilities, and their absolute commitment to our dairy business," said Frans VanOudenallen, director of marketing for Monsanto Dairy.
"We are thrilled to work with Monsanto Dairy on their POSILAC brand and other emerging technologies," said Michael Turley, chief marketing officer of Osborn & Barr. "Our longstanding partnership with Monsanto, as well as our expertise in brand and channel communication aligns well with their business-to-business marketing needs."
POSILAC is Monsanto's trade name for its supplemental bovine somatotropin (BST) product. BST is a naturally occurring protein produced by all dairy cows and a necessary component of milk production. Supplementing dairy cows with small amounts of POSILAC enhances milk production and serves as an important tool to help dairy producers improve the efficiency of their operations.
Decisive is a new technology developed by Monsanto. It will allow advanced gender selection to favor the production of either bull calves or heifer calves according to the producer's preference.
With the recent addition of Monsanto Canada East's business to the agency's portfolio of clients, Osborn & Barr now supports nearly all of Monsanto North America's marketing communications needs.
