The Type 265X Modular Ball Valve System is designed to offer a variety of customized temperature, pressure, level and flow control solutions
The Type 265X Modular Ball Valve System is designed to offer a variety of customized temperature, pressure, level and flow control solutions. These valves feature high reliability, as well as low installation and operating costs for both ON/OFF and continuous/proportional controlled applications.

The valve system is available in two basic versions: a standalone ON/OFF unit with single or double actuation, or as a complete continuous process control valve system with the Type 8630/31 TOP Control head unit. Both versions are ideally suited for Easy LINK solutions using programmable sensors - accepting instant connection and input directly from process sensors.

Total life cycle costs are less as a result of their 20%-30% lower initial acquisition cost, the elimination of external control air requirements, and their ease of setup and calibration.

Applications can be found in a number of industries including water treatment and water distribution systems, chemical and process engineering, food and beverage processing, and general processing industries. These systems can also be easily configured into equipment and machines including shut-off armatures used for textile dyeing and bleaching, cleaning machines and machine tool cooling equipment. All configurations are delivered tested and ready to install. TOP Control head units are pre-mounted.

The quarter-turn ball valves are available with two-piece plastic valve bodies as well as in two- or three-piece stainless steel body versions. Design features include blow-out proof stem protection, PTFE seats, and full- or reduced-bore NPT, G or Rc port connections on the stainless steel version or true-union connections on the PVC version. Both versions are available in ¼in. to 2in. sizes.

The three-piece body is double sealed for superior tightness in the stem area during temperature and pressure variations. For ease of maintenance, a "swing away" control section allows the seals and seat to be changed while keeping the valve on the pipe. Both versions can handle neutral gases and liquids to 230 PSI and fluid temperatures of 14ºF to +248º: F.

For ON/OFF control, the valve is externally piloted and comes with a single action (normally closed by spring return) or double-action (available on the three-piece valve body) pneumatic actuator.

TOP Control creates a total system for either ON/OFF or continuous control. With accuracy up to 1%, this system excels in applications involving an advanced level of process automation. The TOP Control unit may also be easily customized to fit on any style or size of quarter-turn valve, from any manufacturer.

Seven different built-in flow characteristics, (3 fast-opening, 1 linear, 3 equal percentage) and the ability to design a custom flow curve eliminate the need for various internal valve trims. The TOP Control head also allows set point adjustment to be done at the valve or externally via standard analog input signals. A wide variety of direct sensor inputs are also available including RTD, 4-20 mA, & frequency; as well as multiple electrical interfaces including ASI, Multipin, Cable Gland, PROFIBUS and DeviceNET. These features significantly reduce installation and startup times, resulting in up to 40% savings of installation costs.
