Micek to Retire as Cargill CEO

Cargill Inc. (Minneapolis, MN) chairman and CEO Ernest Micek has announced that he plans to retire in August 2000. Warren Staley who is currently president will take over as CEO beginning June 1, 1999. Micek will remain chairman until his retirement.

Micek joined Cargill in 1959 and has worked in the company's soybean processing and corn milling divisions. He was elected chairman and CEO in August 1995 and served as president from 1994 until February 1998.

With more than 1,000 locations in 65 countries, Cargill is an international marketer, processor and distributor of agricultural, food, financial and industrial products.
