Maple Leaf Foods Names Leadership Team

Michael McCain, who assumed the position of president and CEO of Maple Leaf Foods on Jan. 1, 1999, has announced the following leadership team:

Richard Lan assumes the newly-created position of president and COO, Maple Leaf Foods Bakery Group. Previously president of Maple Leaf Foods USA, Lan's new responsibility will include all Maple Leaf Foods Bakery operations.

J. Scott McCain has been named president and COO, Maple Leaf Foods Agribusiness Group. He was previously executive vice-president, Maple Leaf Foods. His new responsibilities include leading the Shur-Gain business and Rothsay Rendering, as well as supervising several corporate functions and the Maple Leaf Potatoes business unit.

Michael McCain will continue to oversee the Meat Products Group of companies directly. This includes the newly formed Maple Leaf Pork and Maple Leaf Consumer Foods, both previously amalgamated as Maple Leaf Meats, as well as Maple Leaf Poultry and Maple Leaf International.

Steven McArthur - president, Maple Leaf Consumer Foods. Darryl Robinson - president, Rothsay Rendering.
Michael Vels - executive vice-president Finance.
Peter Smith - corporate vice-president, Engineering for Maple Leaf Foods.
