Hercules Announces Plans to Expand Pectin Production

Hercules Inc., Wilmington, DE, has announced plans to expand its pectin facility at its Food Gums plant in Grossenbrode, Germany. The expansion will increase pectin annual capacity in Grossenbrode from 3,300 metric tons to 5,500 metric tons and is expected to reduce manufacturing costs at the site considerably. The project is scheduled to be completed by the third quarter of year 2000.

This automation and expansion project is the first in a series of three planned expansions.
