Since 1958, Grain States Soya, Inc. has manufactured the "Old Process" of mechanically expelled soybean meal. After years of developing our unique soybean processing technique, we are pleased to introduce Soy Best, a quality product with higher protein and energy to meet your nutritional demands. Our all-natural process of mechanical extraction carefully controls the cooking temperature of our soybeans for optimum nutrient availability. By "cooking" our soybean meal, we are able to destroy negative nutritional factors such as trypsin inhibitors or molds which lower nutrient availability and may cause potential herd problems. This means that only heat and pressure are used to make Soy Best the leading soybean meal available. The careful manufacturing of Soy Best generates many other beneficial results as well. One of the benefits is the large amount of "bypass protein" available to the high-producing cow. In trials conducted at the University of Nebraska - Lincoln, Ruminant Nutrition Laboratory, (Klopfenstein, et. al.) and Louisiana State University (McCormick), Soy Best was found to contain 58% to 62% bypass protein from its total crude protein content. This means that a large amount of the essential amino acid lysine, found in our soybean meal, but normally deficient in high grain and corn silage diets, will "bypass" the upper digestive tract and be utilized more efficiently in the lower gut. With the increased availability and absorption of these essential nutrients, higher milk yields and elevated milk protein levels often result.
