Sun Liquor Announces Their Aged Eggnog Release Plans For 2017


Sun Liquor’s famous holiday fancy eggnog will exclusively hit Total Wine and More shelves twice this season, at 9AM on November 18th and at 9AM December 16th, 2017. This marks Sun Liquor’s 11th year of producing its much anticipated annual offering.

“This year, we have again increased our volume in order to keep up with our eggnog’s popularity,” says Sun Liquor’s founder, Michael Klebeck. “We usually see stores selling out so quickly that people miss out, so our goal was to make it available for more people and for both holidays.”

The hand-made aged eggnog is very labor intensive, aged for 60 days and needs to be kept refrigerated, but all the effort is worth it; ask anyone who’s tried it. The traditional method of producing eggnog, which requires egg whites and yolks to be separated, whipped with sugar and cream and then mixed gently with bourbon, brandy and rum, is a very old recipe of our head distiller, Erik Chapman. “It requires months of preparation and production and is sold in vintage inspired milk bottles to enhance the beauty of this limited bottling,” says Chapman. This year’s nog was again made with brandy distilled from Seattle Cider's Dry Cider and cream from Smith Brothers Farms. We also teamed up with Snoqualmie Ice Cream to craft a fancy frozen non-alcoholic eggnog custard, available in many grocery stores around Washington and Oregon.

The fancy aged eggnog will be available exclusively at Total Wine and More locations in Bellevue, Interbay, Tukwila, Lynnwood, Olympia, Federal Way, Northgate, Puyallup and Silverdale. There will also be a limited stock at Sun Liquor Distillery’s tasting room at 4612 Union Bay Place N.E., Seattle, WA. There are very limited supplies and is first come, first served. Additionally, if Seattle-area eggnog enthusiasts would like to better their chances of getting some bottles this year, Sun Liquor has partnered with Dino’s Tomato Pie for a Puerto Rico aid fundraiser on November 21st, 2017 at 8PM, at 1524 E Olive Way, Seattle, WA. Certificates for six sets of two bottles will be for auction and all proceeds will be donated directly to relief teams on the ground in Puerto Rico.

As per tradition you can also enjoy our aged eggnog by the glass on Christmas Eve and Christmas day only at Sun Liquor Lounge, in Seattle’s Capitol Hill neighborhood at 607 Summit Avenue East.
