Cargill Dow LLC is creating a completely new category: performance polymers for packaging and fibers made entirely from annually renewable resources.
To meet demand for this new polymer, Cargill Dow has broken ground for a new plant in Blair, Nebraska. The facility will have a capacity of 140,000 metric tons and serve the global demand for NatureWorks™ PLA until capacity is added in Europe and Asia. The Blair plant will be online in 2002.
Cargill Dow is a 50:50 joint venture between Cargill Incorporated and Dow Chemical. While Cargill Dow is a stand-alone business, it will continue to leverage the world-class agricultural processing, manufacturing and polymer expertise of our parent companies in order to bring the best possible products to market.
Cargill Dow has offices in Minnetonka, Minnesota; Midland, Michigan; Europe and Japan.
