‘Milk Mustache' ad auction for charity

‘Milk Mustache’ ad auction for charity

Exclusive GOT MILK? memorabilia will be up for bid on eBay September 5-12. Sale of the Milk Mustache advertising campaign collectibles will benefit Big Brothers Big Sisters of America.

The ads feature a range of celebrities—for example, Elle McPherson, The Backstreet Boys, Tyra Banks, and David Copperfield. GOT MILK? items available for bid include one-of-a-kind celebrity autographed ads, TV commercials never before available to the public, the rare collector GOT MILK? Barbie, and out-of-production toys. The bidding will take place at www.ebay.com/fundraising http://www.ebay.com/fundraising.

"GOT MILK? is arguably the best known and most beloved campaign in the country," says Jeff Manning, executive director of the California Milk Processor Board (CMPB). "Now GOT MILK? Is giving fans access to one-of-a-kind collectibles while helping Big Brothers Big Sisters of America serve more children." Manning, credited with building the California advertising campaign into a national icon, says more advertisers should give back to the communities that buy and consume their products.

The CMPB is hoping to raise a lot of "moo-lah" for Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America, America's most widely known youth mentoring organization. More than 500 Big Brothers and Big Sisters affiliates "match" adult volunteers and children in caring, mentoring relationships. Big Brothers and Big Sisters of America's growth goal is to serve one million children annually by the year 2010.

The CMPB is funded by all California milk processors and administered by the California Department of Food and Agriculture. "GOT MILK?" is licensed from the CMPB by Dairy Management Inc. (DMI) and the National Fluid Milk Processor Promotion Board.
