Industrial refrigeration manufacturer Azane Inc has launched its high efficient, low charge, packaged ammonia chiller, Azanechiller in the US.

(PRWEB) - Azane Inc specializes in the manufacturing of low charge, packaged ammonia refrigeration systems that meet current environmental legislation and provide a future-proof solution for users of industrial cooling equipment.

The Azanechiller overcomes environmental concerns regarding the impending R-22 phase out, also ensuring plant longevity as natural refrigerant ammonia will not be affected by the HFC refrigerant phase down.

Azane’s low-charge ammonia technology has been developed, tested and proven in Europe for over 20 years. Its introduction into the US market follows on from its successful use in European for new build facilkities and use on R22 phase out projects. Europe’s deadline for R22 phase is 1st January 2015.

The Azanechiller delivers high efficiency and long term reliability with an expected operating life of 20+ years. The use of low charge ammonia should protect Azanechiller from future regulatory or legislative restrictions due to ammonia’s zero GWP and non ozone depleting credentials.

Ammonia makes environmental and business sense as recent studies carried out in installations across Europe showed that low charge ammonia is an average of 20% more energy efficient than HFCs.

The Azanechiller is used to cool a secondary fluid circuit, such as water or glycol, and can be used in temperature controlled storage, dairies, breweries, wineries and other industrial food processing refrigeration applications. Its relatively small size, factory-built package ensures ease of installation in new facilities or when an existing refrigeration system is being replaced as no machinery room is required and the chiller can be located close to the point where cooling is required.

A key benefit of the Azane product range is its air cooled condenser, which eliminates the need for water and has been shown to provide comparable energy efficiency to evaporative condenser technology on an annual basis. This results in a net overall operating saving. A further benefit is the reduced ammonia charge which can be as little as 2lbs of ammonia per Ton of Refrigeration, which is less than 20% of the charge used in a traditional pumped or gravity fed ammonia systems.

Azane’s low ammonia charge is significantly lower than OSHA’s Process Safety Management and EPA RPM threshold limits (10,000 lbs of ammonia) and will not be listed in federal and national emphasis programs .

Manufactured in Pennsylvania and supplied nationwide, the Azanechiller fully adheres to US legislation.

Derek Hamilton, US Business Development Manager at Azane Inc, says: “With the R-22 phase out now in motion, the industry is looking for solutions that will prove to be legislative, environmentally and economically viable. The Azanechiller has zero ODP and GWP, it is 5% more energy efficient than traditional ammonia systems and uses 20% less energy than HFC systems. The pre-packaged unit also requires no site installation of pipework and equipment, therefore reducing installation costs.”
