Piezo Switches With Seal-Tight Protection Meet Highest Standard - Class IP69K

Santa Rosa, CA - Schurter's broad range of piezo switches now meets the seal-tight protection class of IP69K. The already tried-and-tested PSE family is suitable for an even wider spectrum of potential applications, having withstood the stringent qualification test according to IEC 60529. The test is executed using a high-pressure vapor stream at 90 Bar and a temperature of 80°C.

In addition to the exceptionally long lifetime of more than 20 million switching cycles, Schurter's piezo switches contain no moving parts and are manufactured with rugged stainless steel or aluminum housings. The robust and hermetically sealed piezo switches are ideal for use in industries with exposure to high levels of dirt and grime, which are subject to routine cleaning with disinfectants or high-pressure washers. Industry examples include food processing plants such as dairies, meat and poultry processing, commercial cooking appliances such as deep fryers, cookers and grills, as well as industrial transport vehicles such as control switches for dump trucks, cement mixing trucks and truck lifts.

The Schurter piezo switches are available in standard mounting diameters of 16, 19, 22, 24, 27 and 30 mm. Additional mounting diameters, materials, colors and shapes can be custom designed. Laser lettering is available on the actuating surface. A variety of standard legends exist. Customer specific lettering and symbols can also be produced. Point or ring illumination is offered in mounting sizes 22 mm and up. The illuminated actuator surface can be displayed with the illumination on in a continuous mode or to indicate the switch in either the on or off position.
