PackExpo 2009 Mid-Range Horizontal Wrapper For special product handling
  • Product handling options make it ideal for irregularly shaped and multi-packing applications
  • Shares common components with other Pack series wrappers for easier maintenance
  • Integrates with Delta Robots, primary product feeding, secondary packaging and product distribution system for easy automation

Bosch Packaging Technology enhances its portfolio of horizontal flow wrappers with the Pack 301 for special product handling. The machine is ideal for irregularly shaped products, unstable product stacks, products on edge and multipacks, which are traditionally difficult to wrap.

To stabilize the product during wrapping, the Pack-301 offers a wide range of options including side and overhead belts, overhead chain and side chain through cutting head. Its modular design provides easy access and the ability to quickly reconfigure for different applications. The machine offers optional 650mm film width and an end of film auto splice with knife mechanism, allowing for higher speed splicing and improved production reliability. It can achieve speeds up to 500 packages per minute.

Due to its modular design, expanded electrical enclosure, standardized user interface using WinPack PC controls, and full range of product handling options, the mid-range wrapper can easily integrate with other packaging equipment such as Delta Robots, primary product feeding, secondary packaging and product distribution systems.

Package appearance is improved with adjustable cantilevered fin wheels and the latest in fin seal technology that utilizes gap control for consistent, precise seal integrity. Providing transport of heavy products and reliable operation with light gauge film, the powered auxiliary fold-over wheel pulls film through the cutting head. The Pack 301 is flexible, enabling use with printed or unprinted heat sealable or cold seal films, polypropylenes, laminates and most heat sealable films.

"Wrapping irregularly shaped goods has always been a challenging process requiring precision and consistency," says Craig Collett, Product Line Manager at Bosch Packaging Technology. "The Pack 301 enables efficiency of special product handling, a streamlined process and high quality package appearance, while sharing many commonalities with the Pack Series of wrappers, which simplify maintenance and reduce costs overall."

The Pack 301 is third in a series of new generation flow wrappers from Bosch Packaging Technology, developed using the company's worldwide base of knowledge and expertise. Bosch has also developed the Pack 201 and the Pack 401, and now with the addition of the Pack 301, the Pack series offers customers a range of wrappers that is available globally and features the latest flow wrapping technology to reliably meet most wrapping requirements.
